Natalka Poltavka.doc
Our performance is about the search for self-identity through the archetype of Natalka Poltavka in modern Ukrainian society. Using verbatim technique, the actors explore the major themes of the original classic play by Ivan Kotlyarevsky of 1819: the preservation of traditional family and spiritual values, the problems of emigration, employment, the integrity of the individual and his life goals. If Natalka, the heroine of the classic play, is the collective image of 19th century Ukrainians, what does she has to be like today? The project was implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.
